WDM Video Capture is a user and kernel mode intfrastructure used to capture video and audio in Windows98, 2000, XP, and later versions of Windows. Description WDM based video capture was introduced with Windows98. The WDM Video Capture filter controls analog capture devices that use Windows Driver Model (WDM) drivers. This filter is actually a kernel-mode KsProxy plug-in. It provides property pages and the COM interfaces for WDM drivers that control analog capture devices (also called analog video decoders). ContaCam is a live webcam monitoring application that can be used to send notifications if motion has been detected. It also functions as a web server where currently connected cameras can be monitored.
The program has a cool set of features like the ability to detect motion, recording camera streams and integrating password protection for the web server that it runs on port 8800 by default. It can interface with cameras on a network or physically connected to the host system.
